CIS Tokyo School Closure for Monday until 11:30 a.m.
Dear CIS Parents,
As you know a typhoon will pass through Tokyo overnight. This has resulted in the cancellation of all Tokyo trains until 8:00 a.m. on Monday. There are also concerns about wind damage to trees and other structures in the Shinagawa area.
With many students and teachers using trains in the morning, and/or walking to school, this makes it impossible for CIS to start classes at the regular time.  CIS Tokyo will open for the lunch session  at 11:30 P.M. Students who ordered school lunch and others will be able to have their lunch at the school if they wish with classes starting as usual at 12:30 p.m.  This arrangement applies to both the Osaki and Meguro campuses. This will provide time for our students and teachers to arrive at the school.
School bus service will not be available at lunch time, but will be available for dismissal in the afternoon for students as usual. Thus the afternoon school bus service will continue as usual.
Thank you in advance for your help with this arrangement.  If there are any updates to this arrangement parents will be notified.
All CIS families, please take care during the typhoon.
