Saturday School

Saturday morning English classes are offered at CIS Tokyo from 9:30 to 12:00 Noon to students from any school who would like to improve their English skills. There are three 12 week blocks of Saturday school beginning in September and ending in June of the school year. The sessions usually run from September to December, December to March, April to June.
Instruction is provided at several levels so that students from age 5 to 14 and at any English skill level may apply to this program. Students who want to improve their English but are currently attending Japanese, Korean and other schools attend these sessions. Sometimes these students who hope to be admitted to the CIS English instruction or ESL program in a year or two will try to improve their English here before they write CIS Tokyo entrance tests and/or make a formal application.

Teachers who teach in Saturday school are fully qualified Canadian teachers who have received certification from the Ministry of Education in Canada (PEI). They are also familiar with Canadian and other western curricula and can thus provide focused instruction to the students who attend. This helps to maximize the value of the 2.5 hours of instruction each Saturday.
Students /parents who are interested in the Canadian International School Tokyo English Saturday School program should contact the school by phone or use the online inquiry form. Registration is available for sessions up to the date of the first class for each group of 12 classes.
