CIS Extracurricular Program
CIS is a member of the International Schools Tokyo Athletic Association (ISTAA) and in that capacity participates in annual international school tournaments for soccer, basketball, volleyball and other sports. Students who participate in these school team activities represent CIS at many international school athletic events.
In addition to school teams, CIS offers a full curricular and extracurricular PE and athletic program. PE classes taught by specialist teachers are core curriculum for all students from kindergarten to grade nine, and are available as optional credit courses for grades 10-12 students. Also an extracurricular intramural program includes floor hockey, soccer, ping pong, dance, running and numerous other athletic activities.
The extracurricular program also provides for after school activities four days a week such as arts and crafts, chess, board games elementary student newspaper, student council, yearbook, digital photography , Japanese tea ceremony, music and Aikido..
Students may select to join several of the scheduled after school activities during each semester. Extracurricular registration forms are provided at the beginning of each semester for parents and students.
