CIS Message from the Principal

Principal

The essence of a worthwhile education is that it should inspire students to question what they already know, motivate them to want to know more and encourage them to be the best they can be as learners and as individuals. At Canadian International School, teachers and administrators make every effort to so inspire one another and their students.

In addition to a broad, challenging curriculum from the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, CIS also offers the International Baccalaureatefs Primary Years programme in the elementary section of the school and a wide range of Advanced Placement courses to its grade 12 students. All students receive regular instruction in music, art and physical education, and Japanese language and culture are taught from grade 1 to grade 12. The curriculum is enhanced by extra-curricuar activities, field trips, community service, concerts and assemblies, and student council membership. Students in grades 3 to 12 participate in one overnight trip per year.

CIS is accredited by the Prince Edward Island Ministry of Education, by the East Asia Regional Counil of Schools (EARCOS) and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is a member of the Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS). It is also recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Education. Our graduates are currently studying at universities in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Japan.

I invite you to consider CIS for your childfs education, and welcome you to visit us for a personal information session and a tour of the facilities.
