Welcome to Canadian International Schoolfs Elementary and High School Libraries
In building A we have a library that is used by the grade K3/4 to grade 6 students. The elementary library offers a Literacy skills program which is taught throughout the different grade levels in a variety of ways. Students can look forward to an adventure as together we gain an appreciation and love of reading! Each class has the opportunity once a week to select then return books for home reading. The younger grades also have a story time--a favourite part of their visit! The older students are encouraged to borrow books as well and together we will be working on developing and enhancing critical reading and information literacy skills.
The high school library is located in building C and is used by grade seven to twelve students. There are scheduled times when the students can visit the library to borrow and return books. These visits may also be used for study, research, or group work. Both libraries offer a large range of materials including picture books, chapter books, fiction and non-fiction as well as print and online reference materials.
Throughout the year, there will be opportunities for parent involvement. A book fair is always exciting for students and parents to purchase English reading materials. Profits from the fair allow for the purchase of new resources for the library.
We all look forward to a school year filled with exciting opportunities and challenges!
