Student council

Introduction

The first CIS student council was elected in 2007. Within the council, there are four executives: president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. The remaining 14 members of the council are made up of two representatives from each grade (6-12). All members of student council are elected fairly and with respect for all students

Student Council members are responsible for organizing school events, parties, fund raising for charity, managing student money, and encouraging all students to take responsibility in their school. The particular style of the council has changed over the years depending on its members.

Students Council of 2011-2012

As the "5th generation", we are building on past student council's efforts. Similar to former student councils, our goal this year is to encourage and give our students the best school year.

Student Council News: What's coming up?

On Dec. 9th, CIS had a Christmas Concert at St.Hilda's. From pre-kindergarten to high school, students performed beautifully and impressed the audience. A great ballet was performed by elementary dance club. Instrumental songs were played by high school band and band club. We had a very successful winter concert and every student received a small present from CIS at the end.

On Oct. 31st, CIS had a Halloween Party. Each homeroom prepared their own booths such as Cafe, Game Center, Ramen Shop, Face Painting, and a Haunted House. Afterwards, official student council events were held such as a Fashion Show and a Pinata. All students had a good time.

Our honorable seniors will be graduating in two months. One thing that we can do for them is to prepare this last party and enjoy the party with them wholeheartedly!

Student Council Sponsored Events at Lunch Time

12.02.2010 CIS Arm Wrestling Contest

The contest was divided into 4 sections of junior boys and girls, senior boys and girls. The event was very successful. Students' cheered and tension filled the air! The teacher arm wrestling competition was very entertaining as well.

12.09.2010 CIS Mental Math Contest

Many confident students from each grade bravely challenged to be a math champion. Simple equations involving multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division were rapidly calculated by young intelligent students. Surprisingly, we could even observe many of our junior high students winning over seniors!

Exams in January! Good Luck Everyone!

Halloween 2010

CIS had a two and half hour Halloween party on Friday October 29, 2010. The party was absolutely no cost to the students, and we hope all the students had fun with the games and, of course, the prizes. The party was successful due to the efforts of the council and helpful cooperation of many other volunteer students.
